Members Have Their Say
Member involvement has been at the heart of the aptly named IT4YOU project since the very beginning.
We appreciate the time many of you took - it means a lot to us that you offered to help and we warmly receive the kudos you sent to encourage us. Many of you have been with us for decades and your ongoing support and commitment to remain lifelong members is something we do not take lightly. We want to reward that loyalty by improving our system and process so those customer satisfaction numbers are off the charts for the right reasons. Thank you to all the members, breeders, professional handlers, judges, exhibitors and show secretaries who took the time to participate in the IT4YOU project.
Member Input Determines Project Priorities

In the fall of 2015, the IT4YOU team reached out to CKC members across the nation using a combination of focus groups at events and online surveys.
The survey showed that we can improve in the area of online litter registration because only 28% of you expressed satisfaction with that. We also discovered that almost 87% of you are interested in increasing your access to online information. Over 92% of respondents said that they would choose a self-serve option online if given the chance. Clearly, you want more flexibility in accessing your data. We heard you loud and clear when over 75% of you were not satisfied with the speed with which you can access your show results. Speed and accuracy is a priority to you which makes it high on our list of ‘must haves’ for the system we’ll be putting in place.
Features & Usability Testing

In August, 2017, CKC members were invited to participate in an online survey designed to rate various features, which could become part of the Member Dashboard. The features included a variety of different components, including a list of owned dogs, status of any pending applications, links to common tasks such as registering a litter, and access to an enhanced help function. Participants were asked to rate the value of having each of these functions appear on their personal Dashboard. Find the results of that survey

Then, later in the year, a sample group of members from across the country were recruited to participate in what’s known as a usability test. Usability refers to evaluating a website by testing it with a group of typical users.
This test determines how well members could complete a given task. For example: Where would you find a dog’s pedigree? The goal is to identify any problems and determine the participant's satisfaction with the website and its various components.
The results of the test were that 83% of members felt that the items on the page were Extremely Easy or Very Easy to locate.
Test participants also had an opportunity to submit comments, and here is a sampling:
“This will be an excellent service and I am looking forward to utilizing it.” |
“Wow! From what I see, I think you are covering all aspects from a breeder perspective. With ease of use, I found it more user friendly than the AKC site.” |
“Love the aspect of being able to see points.” |
