#1 Field Beagle – FTCH Daves Foxhill Big Timber

Call Name: Timber
Beagle
Date of Birth: March 26, 2021
Breeder(s): David Fraser
Owner(s): Andrew Hudson
Handler(s): Andrew Hudson

Timber the Beagle, affectionately known as "Tim," had an outstanding 2024 field trial season, earning him a spot as a CKC Top Dog in Beagle Field Trials. A memorable highlight came when Tim won first place at the 40th anniversary trial at Bellevue, his home club in Newfoundland and Labrador. The victory was made even more special by the presence of Tim’s owner’s son, Andrew Hudson, who had attended many trials before, making the moment unforgettable.

Tim’s success is rooted in his natural abilities and the dedication of his owner. As a Beagle, Tim has the stamina and mental fortitude to compete all day in the field. Andrew, a firm believer in the importance of training, nutrition, and care, worked tirelessly to refine his skills. This dedication led to Tim achieving Field Trial Champion (FTCH) status at just two years old, alongside victories at the Canadian Nationals and the All Canada 15" male title in 2024.

Despite living in remote Newfoundland and Labrador, Tim and Andrew’s perseverance saw them through transportation challenges, including a flight to the Canadian Nationals after a storm cancelled ferry service. Tim’s win at the Nationals was the perfect end to an exceptional year. With ongoing training for AKC Field Champion status, Timber’s accomplishments reflect the dedication required to reach the top of Canada’s field trial scene.

Call Name: Ruger
Whippet

August 15, 2022
Breeder(s): Jo Sowards
Owner(s): Rhonda and Tony Hansen
Handler(s): Rhonda and Tony Hansen

Ruger the Whippet’s 2024 season has been a standout year, culminating in his qualification as a CKC Top Dog in Lure Coursing.
