2024 Top Show Dogs

Full Results PDF

Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of our Top Dogs.  If there are any corrections or missing titles, please review your records against the CKC’s published results and send the show information in question to information@ckc.ca.

The Top Show Dogs system awards one point for every dog defeated from Best of Breed competition to Best in Show. Top Dogs are ranked according to the Top Five in each breed, the Top 10 in each group, and the Top 10 All Breeds.

Canada’s number one Show Dog 2024 for All Breeds is Atzi, a beautiful Standard Xoloitzcuintli! Atzi secured 61 Best in Show titles, multiple performance titles, and finished the year as the #1 All Breed Dog, thanks to her strong partnership with handler Graeme Burdon. We caught up with the Top 10 Show Dogs to find out more about their success.

Standard Xoloitzcuintli
Date of Birth: November 14, 2021
Breeder(s): Maria Arena Escoffie
Owner(s): Jannine Kowalchuk
Handler(s): Graeme Burdon

Atzi the Standard Xoloitzcuintli had a remarkable 2024, earning the title of CKC Top Dog in Conformation. A highlight of her year was at the Societe Canine de Quebec show in August, where Judge Lee Steeves awarded Atzi her 50th Best in Show (BIS). She was also honoured by four Mexican judges throughout the year, making these wins even more special. With 61 BIS and 44 Reserve Best in Show (RBIS) titles, Atzi’s success is undeniable.

Atzi’s strong partnership with her handler, Graeme Burdon, has been a key factor in her achievements. From the moment she arrived in Canada, Atzi showcased her intelligence, earning multiple performance titles – Scent Detection Instinct & Novice, Barn Hunt Instinct & Novice, and Novice Trick Dog – all before one year of age. Miniature Schnauzer
Date of Birth: March 14, 2021
Breeder(s): Connie Krohn, Jackie Harris and Carol Henning
Owner(s): Connie Krohn and Jackie Harris
Handler(s): Connie Krohn

Tanner, the Miniature Schnauzer, had an extraordinary 2024, earning a place as a CKC Top Dog in Conformation. Additionally, Tanner earned his Rally Novice title in three consecutive trials, which also secured his Versatility Novice and Grand Champion Excellent titles, demonstrating his versatility in both conformation and performance events.

Campaigning Tanner, a dog handled by his owner, Connie Krohn, has been especially rewarding. Tanner’s love for the ring and enthusiasm for learning have made him a joy to work with. Despite these challenges, Tanner’s fearless and outgoing nature has allowed him to thrive.

Tanner's success
is a reflection of the dedication of his breeders, Connie Krohn, Jackie Harris, and Carol Henning, who helped nurture his potential. As the first and only Gold Grand Champion Miniature Schnauzer in Canada, Tanner is a true ambassador for his breed. With his beauty and brains, he has set a high standard for future generations, and the Canadian Kennel Club is proud to celebrate his achievements.
