dixon-brca-camrose-2025-march-2762-Edit-2.jpgCall Name: Taffy
Siberian Husky
Date of Birth: March 3, 2020
Breeder(s): Kim Ramey-Leblanc
Owner(s): Kim Ramey-Leblanc & Joanne Dixon
Handler(s): Trina Neil
Province: Ontario

Taffy had an outstanding 2025, earning the title of CKC’s #1 All-Breed Show Dog. While her success in the ring was remarkable, some of the most meaningful moments came at home. “Seeing Taffy when she came to my neighbourhood and having her greet me with all her stories to tell,” shared co-owner Kim Ramey-Leblanc, was a highlight of the year. As the season drew to a close, reaching the end of November brought a wave of relief. “We had achieved our goal.”

Her campaign was also marked by impressive versatility. In October, Taffy earned her Rally Novice title with Dr. Monique Dubé, which also qualified her for her Grand Champion Excellent title. She later added her Novice Trick Dog title alongside her handler, Trina Neil, earning the Versatility Novice designation.
Bred and co-owned by Kim Ramey-Leblanc with Joanne Dixon, Taffy represents a strong family legacy. Her dam, Chilly, ranked #4 All Breeds in 2019, while her sire, Bo, achieved #1 during the challenging 2020 season. “These three dogs have that special combination of excellence in conformation coupled with the best kind of temperaments,” Kim said. “Genetics counts!”

Reflecting on the journey, Kim emphasized the importance of the people behind the success. “First and foremost, my friend and Taffy’s co-owner Joanne Dixon, without whom this journey would never have even begun,” she shared. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to handler Trina Neil, calling her Taffy’s “ring partner and best buddy,” as well as the judges who rewarded Taffy throughout the year and the fellow competitors whose sportsmanship made the journey so special. “To my family and friends who know I am dog crazy,” Kim added, “your support meant the world.”

True to her Siberian Husky nature, Taffy approaches everything with enthusiasm. “There are no strangers in Taffy’s world,” Kim said. “Meeting all the people was great fun for her.” Achieving Top Dog status reflects a journey built on dedication, teamwork, and a dog who truly loved every moment in the spotlight.

Bourban-and-Amanda-candid-by-Celso-2026.JPGCall Name: Bourbon
Saluki
Date of Birth: March 19, 2022
Breeder(s): Mary White, Richard Worden, Erika Rose
Owner(s): Cheryl Paterson & Chris Millman
Handler(s): Amanda McAllister
Province: Ontario

Bourbon enjoyed an exceptional 2025 campaign, finishing as the #2 All-Breed Show Dog in Canada and earning the title of Top Hound for the year. Among many unforgettable moments, one achievement stands above the rest. “Bourbon breaking the BIS record and becoming the Top Winning BIS Saluki of all time in Canada will always hold a special memory for me,” says co-owner Cheryl Paterson, who shares Bourbon with co-owner Chris Millman.

Bourbon’s success is rooted in a partnership built on trust, communication, and mutual respect. “Working with Bourbon has taught me that partnership isn’t about control – it’s about listening, trust, patience, understanding, and growing together as a team,” Cheryl explains. His calm demeanour plays a central role in how he works in the ring, while his thoughtful independence requires clarity and consistency. “His athleticism demands preparation and timing, and his sensitivity requires calm, consistent handling. Our work as a team reflects a partnership built on understanding rather than pressure.”

A heartfelt thank you goes to Bourbon’s handler, Amanda McAllister, whose dedication and love were instrumental throughout the year. Cheryl also expresses deep appreciation for the support system behind Bourbon’s success, including Chris Millman, friends, and fellow dog fanciers who contributed along the way. Special recognition is extended to Bourbon’s breeders, Mary White, Richard Worden, and Erika Rose, whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for his achievements.

Finishing second among all breeds is an extraordinary accomplishment, made even more meaningful by representing a less familiar breed. “Salukis are not a well-known breed, and that adds an extra layer of difficulty and accomplishment,” Cheryl notes. Bourbon’s journey is a powerful reminder that perseverance, preparation, and belief in your dog can lead to truly remarkable success.

#5 – GCHG Bonwild Black Magic Woman

Photo-credit-Paul-Oslach-1.jpgCall Name: Trillé
Toy Manchester Terrier
Date of Birth: June 29, 2022
Breeder(s): Sari Laitinen
Owner(s): Amanda Kelly, Carolyn Horowitz & Sari Laitinen
Handler(s): Sydney Robinson, CPHA
Province: Nova Scotia

Trillé’s 2025 campaign was defined by heart, grit, and a truly collaborative team effort, earning her a place as the #5 Show Dog (Conformation), All Breeds. While there were many standout moments throughout the year, one performance captured her spirit best: a Best in Show win at Hochelaga in challenging rain and mud conditions. “Most Toy Manchester Terriers would have laid down and given up in that weather, but not her,” says co-owner Amanda Kelly. “Trillé has grit. She never, ever gives up.”

Her season also included memorable highlights such as Best of Breed at the World Dog Show and Terrier Group 3 at the circuit show during World Dog Show week in August, as well as a Best Owner-Handled in Show win at Progressive in February. But beyond the ribbons, Trillé’s journey was shaped by the people around her. “Showing Trillé has been a group project,” Amanda explains. She was shown internationally in Europe by her breeder and owners in Finland, campaigned in Canada by Amanda, and spent much of the year in the ring with handler Sydney Robinson, CPHA. “Trillé is always happy to do fun things with her friends!”

True to her breed, Trillé brings intelligence and enthusiasm to everything she does. “Toy Manchester Terriers live and breathe to make their owners happy,” Amanda says. “We try to make showing a game. Everything is a trick if you teach it that way.” From managing changing weather conditions to keeping Trillé engaged and confident, the focus was always on making the experience enjoyable for her.

Trillé is owned by three very good friends and long-time Toy Manchester breeders from Canada, the United States, and Finland: Amanda Kelly, Carolyn Horowitz, and Sari Laitinen. The team is grateful to her owners in Finland, Keira Leivo and Jaana Immonen-Sillantie, for sharing her with them. They also extend sincere thanks to the judges who recognized Trillé throughout the year, and especially to Sydney Robinson and her dedicated team for presenting her so beautifully.

Reflecting on the season, Amanda shares a reminder that resonates far beyond rankings:
“Years from now, no one will remember who was #1, 2 or 75. What will matter are the memories you make with the dogs and people you love, and those rarely involve a ribbon.”

Owner(s): Crystal Davies
Handler(s): Crystal Davies
Province: Alberta

Cahri had an unforgettable 2025, earning her place as #6 in Conformation, All Breeds and making history along the way. One of the season’s standout moments came during a successful run on Vancouver Island, where Cahri captured four Best in Show wins in August. “Apparently she really enjoyed the island lifestyle,” owner Crystal Davies shares. The most meaningful achievement, however, was Cahri’s Best in Show win at the Evelyn Kenney Kennel & Obedience Club’s 40th Anniversary show, a victory that broke the record for the most Best in Show wins by a Lakeland Terrier in a single year.

Cahri’s journey is especially personal for Crystal, who is not only her owner and handler, but also one of her breeders alongside Terri Alloway. “Our partnership started quite literally from day one. Cahri was born in my bedroom,” Crystal says. “From her first breath to the big ring, it is an honour to present her as her Breeder, Owner, and Handler.” That lifelong connection is evident every time Cahri steps into the ring.
True to her breed, Cahri brings intensity and enthusiasm to her work. “She is always on the tip of her toes, sharp, energetic, and always ready for the next challenge,” Crystal explains, qualities that give her a competitive edge and make her a joy to show.

Crystal is quick to acknowledge the support behind Cahri’s success, thanking her husband Chase Davies, and their children Elika, Joshua, and Kathryn, along with friends and fellow dog people who have supported them throughout the journey. Reflecting on what this achievement means, Crystal sums it up best. “It means we achieved something I once only dreamed of, and proved that a little terrier born in a bedroom can grow up to make history.”

He also acknowledges Tracy Czarnecki, whose early encouragement helped bring Sulee onto the public stage, as well as the countless volunteers and judges across Canada who supported their journey.
Reflecting on the achievement, Xavier remains grounded. “At the end of the day, Sulee will always be the same great dog no matter how many ribbons he wins,” he says. “But I was glad to be able to share him with Canada for a year, to show what I see in him every day.”

#8 – GCHG Dreamchaser's You Had Me At Hello

2025-TIKO-BIS1.JPGCall Name: Kinslee

Breeder(s): Dawn Robitaille, Debra Quadland and Graeme Burdon
Owner(s): Dawn Robitaille, Debra Quadland and Debby Furlow
Handler(s): Graeme Burdon or Emily Burdon
Province: Ontario

Kinslee’s 2025 season was defined not by a single standout win, but by the consistency, excitement, and depth of competition she faced throughout the year. “Every win was memorable — not because success was expected, but because it never was,” says co-owner Dawn Robitaille. With strong competition at every event, each achievement felt hard-earned and genuinely meaningful.

At the heart of Kinslee’s success is the close bond she shares with her people. Owned by Dawn Robitaille, Debra Quadland, and Debby Furlow, Kinslee is rarely far from her co-owner Dawn’s side. Although Dawn does not present Kinslee in the ring, she is always ringside in support. “She doesn’t go to a show without me,” Dawn shares, describing the unmatched connection they have developed. That partnership extends seamlessly into the ring through handlers Graeme Burdon and Emily Burdon, whose teamwork with Kinslee highlights her joyful and expressive presence.

As a Bearded Collie, Kinslee embodies the breed’s hallmark traits of energy, intelligence, sensitivity, and responsiveness. Put your dog first, have fun, and enjoy every moment.” Achieving CKC Top Dog status is a point of pride for Kinslee’s team. For her co-owners, it reflects the strength of a carefully planned breeding program, while for Kinslee, it is simply about doing what she loves most and being with her people.

Province: British Columbia

Radar, a Havanese bred by Bev Dorma of MistyTrails Havanese, had an exceptional 2025 season, finishing the year ranked CKC’s #9 Show Dog, All Breeds. Among the many milestones, one moment stood out above the rest: Radar’s first Best in Show win, earned after an extraordinary campaign that included 50 Group First placements. “My mom used to dream about being in the CKC Top 100 and is now in the Top 10,” Bev shares. “So much happened this year, but that first Best in Show, after working so hard, meant everything.”

Gratitude is also extended to Grooms By Em, as well as Willow, who helped keep Radar looking and feeling his best, and to Michelle Yeadon and Vienna, who first showed him in earlier seasons.

Beyond his show career, Radar is already leaving a lasting legacy as a sire, producing promising young dogs that are beginning to earn wins of their own. For Bev, Radar represents the culmination of nearly three decades of careful breeding, guided by a commitment to health, temperament, and longevity. “Radar has been called flawless by many judges,” she says. “He is the result of breeding the best we could, and having the right team to take him to the next level.”

#10 – GCHG Rush Hill's G.O.T. Dragon Glass @ Allsgold

_KK59969-1.jpgCall Name: Tyrian
Golden Retriever
Date of Birth: October 19, 2020
Breeder(s): Tonya Struble & Hanna Stone
Owner(s): Brenda Martin & Chris McBride
Handler(s): Jennifer Driessen
Province: British Columbia
Tyrian, the Golden Retriever, earned his place as a Canadian Kennel Club Top Dog in Conformation in 2025 following a consistent and rewarding campaign year that highlighted both his quality and the strength of the team behind him. One of the most memorable moments of the season came at the Castlegar Dog Show, where Tyrian captured a Best in Show under judge Patrick Mudge. “It had been a long, hot summer, and we were so happy to end the summer and celebrate a wonderful Best in Show with his owners there to watch it happen,” says co-owner Brenda Martin. The win marked not just a highlight in the standings, but a meaningful moment of shared accomplishment after months of dedication and travel.

Brought to Canada from Rushhill Kennels in Washington, Tyrian joined the Allsgold breeding program to introduce new bloodlines and support future generations. “We are so pleased with the pups he is producing,” Brenda shares, noting the important role he plays beyond the show ring. Like many Golden Retrievers, Tyrian’s desire to please and work as part of a team has been central to his success. “Golden Retrievers want to please and make their people happy. That kind of temperament helps when you are doing a lot of dog shows in a year. You work together, make it fun, and they will keep showing for you,” she explains.

Tyrian’s achievements reflect the dedication of a larger community. “Showing dogs takes a whole community sometimes to make sure that everything is done correctly,” Brenda says. She extends her thanks to co-owner Chris McBride, handler Jennifer Driessen, and Willow Bertrand, Jolie McMullan, Terri Brennan-Wise, Shanelle Wainwright, and Shaunna Bernardin for their constant care, support, and attention to detail throughout the campaign.

Reflecting on the journey, Brenda offers this advice to those new to the sport: “Not all days will be great. Take your wins with your losses and carry on. Having a good day at the dog show isn’t always about winning a ribbon.” Making the Top 10 alongside another Golden Retriever from their program, she adds, “is a dream come true,” and a moment she is incredibly proud to share with their dogs and team.
