Call for Photos: Ontario Tech University Research Request!


Ontario Tech University is looking for 1 million photos of dogs (and cats) to help with animal recognition and emotions AI research. Photos submitted by CKC members can help set the standard for AI recognition of purebred dogs.
 
Smaller file transfers can be submitted using the following Google Form: https://forms.gle/2FSw8JbjKfhjSCAv9
 
Non-Google account holders can email their photos to: [email protected].
 
Some uses for the AI research include:
  • Improve lost-found-recovery-reunifications of lost animals with our recognition features.
  • Reading animal emotions such as anxiety, pain, and stress for caretakers to take proactive actions, or to avoid animal-human conflicts.
  • Enabling breeders to 'follow' the puppies with their new families to ensure well-being and care, and to even monitor the health of each litter.
 
Note: Submitted photos will only be used in their research lab to create a digital visual recognition platform to help improve the well-being and care of animals by everyday animal caretakers.  You can submit multiple photos for each dog, as more images submitted will help with AI accuracy and identification. Please group your photos according to each dog and separate puppy from adult photos.
