The Canadian Kennel Club is saddened by the passing of Butch MacDonald, on March 19, 2016.
Butch started his career in dogs in the mid ’60s with German Shepherds and American Cockers. When he met

the love of his life, Cec Ringstrom, they bred Doberman Pinschers and then Papillons under the Starstorm prefix. In 1992, after a long and successful professional-handling career, Butch started judging and became an all-breed judge in 2005. Judging provided him the opportunity to assess dogs worldwide, with assignments in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand and the U.S.
As a CKC member for 42 years, Butch gave back to the club, serving four years on the Discipline Committee and then as a Director of the Board for Alberta in 2000-2002.
Butch will be greatly missed by many. The CKC extends its sincere condolences to Butch’s family and friends.
