Election & Referendums – FAQs
How do I register for online voting?
No need to register. All eligible voters will receive a voting package in the mail which includes the website address for the secured voting site, personal user ID and password to access the site. For future elections and referendums, online voters will automatically receive an electronic voting package unless a paper ballot is requested.
How do I vote by paper ballot?
The voting package that you receive in the mail will also include paper ballots so you have a choice of either voting online or by paper.
If I don’t have an email address on file with the CKC, can I still vote electronically?
Yes. All you have to do is log into the secured voting site and sign in with your personal user ID and password that is being sent to you in the mail. Keep in mind that once you have voted electronically, you will automatically receive electronic ballots for future elections and referendums unless you request a paper ballot.
What’s to stop a member from voting both online and on paper?
Once you log in to “test drive” the electronic option, even if you do not register a vote, you will be considered an online voter and will be unable to vote by mail.
What happens if I misplace my online access information?
Just send an email to
[email protected] and the CKC will contact the Election Commission on your behalf.
What if I lose my internet connection while I am in the process of voting?
As long as there are votes still uncast, you can continue to log in throughout the month of November. Once the ballot is completed, you will be denied access. If you do not feel informed enough to vote on a particular issue, it is perfectly acceptable to leave that question blank. Keep in mind that voting closes on November 30
th at 23:59 EST.
How will I know if my electronic vote has been recorded?
Once the ballot has been completed or the voter has signed off, a vote receipt will be displayed immediately on screen.
