I am a boutique breeder and a passionate Lagotto Romagnolo aficionado. I live with two small bodied Lagotti, Truffles - female, 28 pounds and Enoki - male, 30 pounds. If you are based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and visit Pacific Spirit Park, you probably have met us on our daily long off-leash walks, enjoying sniffing adventures and climbing on fallen trees, or at Spanish Banks beach during low-tides, swimming, paddle-boarding and playing with a ball or frisbee.
I am striving for a compassionate approach to canine breeding, sharing a life with dogs and better understanding of their needs. I believe, there must be a very unique collaboration between human and dog, taking into account the laws of nature, like the one that an energetic dog requires an energetic lifestyle and, thus, an energetic human companion. Such collaboration is my goal. It starts with an attentive dog breeding, followed by mindful and loving puppy raising, which will eventually lead to enjoyment of life with an well-rounded adult dog.
HEALTH:
Both my breeding dogs are registered with The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), which means I followed a protocol for breed-specific health screenings by certified veterinary specialists. Dogs tested in accordance with this protocol are awarded with a CHIC number and certification. My male dog’s CHIC is 184448, my female dog’s CHIC is 156907. This means that your puppy’s parents health records are available in public domain at www.ofa.org in an open and transparent manner and that you can always check them if you wish to.
My breeding dogs have the following health checks:
DNA Tests for over 220 diseases, including breed related Benign Familial Juvenile Epilepsy,
Lagotto Storage Disease, Hyperuricosuria and Neuroaxonal Dystrophy;
Eyes, Patella, Hip Dysplasia and Cardiac Screenings.
PUPPY RAISING:
My puppies are part of my family, before they become part of yours. They are born and raised at home. To give my puppies the best possible chance of thriving in our modern world, I follow the Puppy Culture program from whelping box to new home. It includes early neurological stimulation, socialization with many different types of people, dogs, objects and sounds, manding, exposure to potty training, leash walking and many more. I take great pride in creating a safe, healthy and loving environment for my puppies. I also take care in ensuring they are placed with suitable, loving families.
FOOD:
I feed my puppies a species appropriate diet. I carefully develop their GI microbiome introducing them to different foods that are good for this, so that they have a healthy GI system as adults, independently of whether their new owners decide to continue feeding them raw food or switch to kibble.
I am now accepting applications for my Winter litter. Puppies come with a guarantee and contract, microchipped, first set of vaccinations and a veterinary exam.
