Puppies now born at Oakenshield! Oakenshield(Perm.) Bedlington Terriers With over 35 years of breeding bedlington terriers, near Carleton Place, ON, George and Jane Wilks, two retired secondary school teachers, have over the years bred and shown champions and continue to breed the bedlington terrier stemming from a passion and respect for the breed. Being responsible breeders all breeding stock were liver biopsied for over 25 years in order to cull any affected copper toxicosis dogs from the breeding programme. All puppies are home raised with the litter registration and individual registration with the Canadian Kennel Club, microchipped, initially vaccinated, dewormed and health checked by our veterinarian before being adopted into their forever homes. Bedlington terriers are loving, non-shedding medium size dogs with spirit, speed and an independent nature. Each dog depending on their unique personality may excel as therapy dogs, in agility and conformation and always as loyal family pets. They are prey driven and it is advised that a fenced yard be provided for safe and free exploring and when walking to use a leash to prevent them running off after squirrels! As a life member and premier member of the Canadian Kennel Club and member of The Bedlington Terrier Club of America, Oakenshield supports our local national kennel club as well as the American international breed club. Puppies can be adopted by select homes and presently, from our Apr 29, 2019 and May 4, 2019 CKC soon to be registered litters.
